In Te Maunga we all did a DLO about our measurement. We learnt about what a perimeter is and what an area is . The perimeter is the outside of something, so say I have drawn a 3 square box, and I want to count the outside, so that's when I find out what the perimeter is by counting the outside of something. An area is the inside of the shape. If I wanted to find out the inside of the shape I would count the inside squares which are called the area, then this would be my answer for the area . My favourite part was that when we were starting to do the perimeter slide I knew what a perimeter was because when I was in Nga Motu last year, I remember we learned things about a perimeter. The thing that made me think hard was that sometimes I got the answers wrong because I missed counting some of the sides on the perimeter.

The amazing art
In Te Maunga we have been learning about our Maunga and our awa. First we had to practice drawing our maunga it in our book, so by then we did it on the A4 paper so it would be easy to draw, then we got our paper and started drawing on it. When we finished drawing Mr Ngata told us that we would be using pastel for colouring in our maunga and awa. He also told us that we could do a little bit of blending if we wanted to. The Last thing Mr Ngata said is to try to get the pastel in the line. My favourite part of our artwork is drawing my Maunga and getting to color it in especially the blending and I also liked doing my Whakatauki on my Maunga. I will try to improve my work by doing the best that I can do.
Cool things about sea creatures
In Te Maunga we were learning about sea creatures. We learnt about different facts about different sea animals. We also learnt about the length of a whale and how to clean up oil in the sea, so you first put dishwashing liquid and food coloring and then just add some water and then you are done . My favourite piece about learning was that we got to pick sea creatures and when we got to do the sea creatures activities. The thing that I learnt is that you should never litter because sea animals will die and you should never leave your rubbish on the floor and especially the beach.

Te Wiki O Te Reo Maori
In Te Maunga we had Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori. I learnt about Te Reo and other things about The Reo. One thing I liked doing was doing the puzzle because we then had a quiz and when you finish the puzzle it will say ATAAHUA and that would be one of the answers to the quiz. The thing that made me think hard was that I couldn't answer the second to last answer on the quiz, so I scrolled through the things that will give you a clue and I finally got the answer [which was whanau].

The boring Lockdown
In Te Maunga we had Lockdown. At home I went out fishing with my Dad and I played around and just did other things around the house. We learnt about science online. I learnt that if you add something like gas and a few more ingredients [I forgot the rest].Then if you put one finger into the bowl of ingredients, yellow water would just make a circle of yellow water around the bubble from the gas.One thing I liked doing in lockdown, was that I could spend more days & time with my family. The thing that you can learn from this is that lockdown may take a while [and it might get boring] but you should always stay put where ever you live and just listen to what the Prime Minister says.
